ice cream sandwich

it's the height of summer in the northern hemisphere and the middle of winter on the bottom half of the world. I am seriously craving crisp whites with pops of colour and having melted ice cream running down my hand while i sit in the sun... not long to go

it's ok it's on sale

elizabeth and james, daisy knights, theyskens theory x 2, tom binns, chloe

net-a-porter sale. why do i do this to myself?

blood orange

i'm only one week into my almost two month uni holidays and i'm already ridiculously bored. so today i moseyed on down to mecca cosmetica where they are offering a 45 minute makeup sesh for $90 (redeemable for products), and you score a little party bag packed full of some of mecca's top sellers. i was in need of some new concealer so i thought i might as well make a day of it and get my makeup done too!

unfortunately for someone who favours a more natural look (too lazy and bad at doing makeup to be bothered every day), having a full face of makeup at 2:30 in the afternoon made me feel like a transvestite.

something i love though is the perfect orangey-red lip she did on me. i might keep it for tonight, hopefully looking a little more lara bingle than dame edna...

marta

you know when you were younger you always wondered if there was another person in the world similar to you? well i think i've found my style twin, marta from life of boheme. this girl is great and embodies the girl i described in my parisienne post (in fact she's in it - fourth from the top). there is no doubt i would wear every single outfit, and she makes me crave some more isabel marant in my wardrobe! to top it off her blog is making me want a summer holiday more with every post!

tax man

it's tax return time in a few weeks and here are a few things on my tax-time wishlist:

diptyque philosykos perfume - a beautifully fresh and simple fig fragrance, perfect for summer
a simple leather skirt - after sending a horrible quilted number down to the salvos it's time to replace it with a beautifully constructed one from work
Michael kors menswear watch - chunkier than my rose gold one, i've been dreaming about it since i posted about it last week...
elizabeth and james crab claw link bracelet - too cute
equipment signature blouse in white - crisp white silk shirt, a classic, enough said.

icon

"I loved the way the bands I grew up admiring looked and the way they dressed. That was just as inspiring as the other elements. It’s the whole thing: the music, their lives, their style . . ."

Alison Mosshart is a serious style icon of mine. How many people can hold their own hanging out with kate moss? oh and she's got this alright band too...

parisienne

ever since i was 6 i have always wanted to be a french girl, and it's no wonder, gallic girls are the epitome of cool. from the original - francoise hardy, to the new - isabel marant and margaux lonnberg, they just never seem to get it wrong. these girls have perfected man-style dressing with a mix of sexiness and innocence... with a uniform of cropped skinnies (jeans to cigarette pants), a perfect basic tee under a blazer, topped off with cool flats or hot pumps. and you can't forget their perfectly undone hair.

french girls are seriously bitchin'

please note: not all of the girls above are french, but their style is off the chain!
